Our small school program has brought an insurgence of energy and pride among faculty members, students, and parents. Teachers have been active participants in creating the school’s vision (Live, Learn, and Communicate as a Community) and mission. |
|
We recognize that all human beings are born learners, and continue to learn until they perish. Inquiry based learning is a process of thinking that breaks down the complexity of an issue and helps remove bias.

In 2005, Detroit Technology High School graduated its first class of seniors. All seniors graduated on time and all were accepted into college. Serving a high crime, high poverty area, DTHS students scored higher than all but Detroit’s selective attendance high schools on the 10th grade MEAP. |

They have molded the traditional curriculum to become student-centered and project-based. They have become coaches to student teaching and learning, rather than the sole instructors of each discipline. Students have become advocates for their own learning. High School students mediate problems between our 7th and 8th grade students. Parents can be seen in the hallways, encouraging students to succeed in school. Parents serve as advocates and mediators for our student population. |
